Claire Bannerman

Claire is an experienced member of the Active Health+ team with over 12 years of experience in the musculoskeletal and sporting field. She qualified from Glasgow Caledonian University with an honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2010. Her combined desire to work and travel took her to Germany and then New Zealand where she worked in private musculoskeletal clinics gaining a wide range of experience working with the public as well as elite athletes within various sports, including rugby, football and the NZ Pro beach volleyball tour in 2012.

Claire returned to Northern Ireland after 5 years in private practice in London where she continued to build on her MSK experience and advance her skills in areas such as hypermobility, pre and post natal care and post-operative rehab working alongside consultants from London Bridge Hospital. Claire has completed numerous post graduate courses including her Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy in 2018.

A love of movement and exercise led to Claire completing Pilates training in both Polestar and STOTT methods, which she loves to integrate into her physio practice to get people functioning at their highest level as well as teaching classes including Barre. Over the years she has spent a lot of time in the USA coaching sport and working with a charity that supports children through summer camps. In her spare time Claire continues to love to travel and aims to keep fit and active through running, Pilates and yoga. From a young age her main sporting passion has been hockey in which she continues to compete, most recently representing Ireland at the Masters World Cup and European Championships.
